75% of Chinese Democracy
12 years in the making, and so far, better than I expected. Some of the ballads are pretty corny, but the heavier stuff is pretty damn good. Ripping guitar solos. I’ll give a full review after a few more listens.
Official November 25th release, but someone (NOT ME) posted most of the songs right here if you want to check it out:

It doesn’t sound like every song on this download is “Official”, and will make the final cut, and the quality is questionable on some of the tracks at the end, but if you can’t wait till the 25th to buy it, at least this will hold you over.

FREE MUSIC - Tim Fite
Tim Fite - Away From The SnakesI’m just finding out about Tim Fite, so don’t jump down by throat because you saw him at SXSW years ago.
I heard one of his songs (Big Mistake) on FUEL that sounded interesting, so I just went to his site, and there’s 2+ albums worth of free downloadable music. I’m only half-way through his first album, Over The Counter Culture (much more hip-hop-ish and upbeat then this video above), and it’s definitely worth the FREE DOWNLOAD.
He has a new album Gone Ain’t Gone that is available on iTunes.

Eagles of Death Metal - Wannabe in LA
I think I take back what I said the other day about Eagles of Death Metal. I’m liking this Heart On album more than their older ones. Seems a little more mature, and a lot of the songs are definitely sounding more Josh/Queens influenced to me.
But I did say that they were fun live, and this new single/vid Wannabe in LA is pretty fun.

I Finally Got My MTV
WOW!!! Finally, MTV just launched MTV Music. You can watch (or embed) pretty much every video they’ve ever played, in really good quality. Amazing!
They even have this Kyuss video I’ve never seen!
Thank you MTV, this is AWESOME.

Eagles of Death Metal - Heart On
If you’re into Eagles of Death Metal, their new album comes out next week. I don’t really like them very much, even thought I’m the biggest Queens of the Stone Age fan ever. Josh Homme, QOTSA’s singer/guitarist is the drummer in Eagles. if you didn’t already know.
Anyway, I just think they’re kind musically boring, although fun live. Someone already posted the album for free here if you like stealing music.

If not, you can check them out on Myspace or just wait till the album comes out on the 28th.

This is a new video and an old poster from Japanese Motors, Alex Knost’s band.
I like the poster a lot.

New Guns N' Roses!
This is the new G N’ R single off the long promised Chinese Democracy.
Everyone likes to mock Axl (and his new plastic face), but I think it’s a pretty good song. It sounds like Guns N’ Roses, which is pretty amazing considering Axl is the only original member left.
The thing is, I’ve heard all of the leaked songs, and there are a few that are waaaaay better than this one. In my opinion. Surprised this is the first single.
What do you guys think? Like it? Hate it?

Taint Stick - Apple Juice
If you don’t have Sirius, you’re really missing out. Not only are you missing Howard Stern, and amazing commercial-free music channels, but you’re also missing out on the Jason Ellis show.
If you don’t know about EllisMate, he’s a former-pro-vert-skater-turned-hilarious-radio-host on the Sirius channel Faction (the “action sports” channel). Tony Hawk, BAM, are regular DJ’s on the channel, alone with Marky Ramone, and Slater even used to have a show, but I don’t know what happened to it.
Anyway, other than Howard, Ellis is by far the best thing going on Sirius, and this is his band Taint Stick’s new video.
Sirius is only like $12 a month, you can listen online, in your car, on your bike, in the gym, wherever, and I think it’s well worth it.
This isn’t a paid advertisement, I just think it’s great entertainment for the price.
